NY Giants hire a GM

The New York Giants hired Dave Gettleman today as their new General Manager.  Gettleman spent 13 years with the Giants from 2000-2012 as their Assistant GM and was a part of three Super Bowls (XXXV, XLII, XLVI).  He became the Carolina Panther’s GM in 2013 and revamped their roster, brought them out of Salary Cap Purgatory and delivered them to Super Bowl 50!  He was recently fired in the bizarre Panther front office fiasco that is ongoing.

I am happy with his pedigree and the fact that he knows what the NY Giants are about.  My only hope is that he brings the same work ethic, cap savvy and desire to get back to the Super Bowl that he exhibited in Carolina minus the possible desire to do things like the Giants always have!  He knows what it takes and what Giants fans demand.  Time will tell but the Giants can be back next year with some key free agent work, trading up and down the draft to acquire more picks to build the roster with key 3rd-5th rounders and drafting a franchise QB to sit behind Eli Manning for 2 years.

Let’s go Giants!!!
